Description

Image

Plasma-driven biocatalysis is a novel concept in which plasma-mediated in situ-generation of reactant is used to drive highly selective enzymatic syntheses. The applicability of plasma-driven biocatalysis is currently limited to the utilization of hydrogenperoxide by a handful of enzymes. The project goals are to identify novel plasma-biocatalysts with biotechnological potential and to accommodate their operating window by supplying optimal reactant concentrations and to establish a proof-of-principle for the utilization of other plasma-generated species in biocatalytic processes.
